So I'm at my friends house today, doing the friendly thing and hooking up his new LCD TV and Blu ray and surround sound system for him.. His wife comes in asks what we would like for lunch.. :)
Lunch orders are taken and she get's into the van, starts it up, engages reverse gear and promptly backs into my bike!!!:mad::(

Front fender........ destroyed
Stand................ snapped
Bar end.............. finished
Clutch lever........ now a good fishing hook
Gear lever ......... not much better

they
say one good turn deserves another..... I reckon they are liars!!

I wanted to put a some Tyga carbon bits on it eventually but not just yet..

Bummer! :(
No Fairing damage?. Seen it happen with a brand new ZX6 written off like that from a mates girlfriend.

Hope the lunch was tasty tho.
Man that sucks, good excuse to start getting some new parts.

I had a lil crash awhile ago, two fairing panels scratched up, bar end, exhaust cover brake pedal bent.

Tyga are pretty awesome got the carbon parts, rear sets and bar ends. took 3 business days to get to Australia awesome.
That really sucks! :(
that stinks:eek:
that just embeded in my head to NEVER park behind

Wow that really sucks. Thats about a persons worst nightmare. Were you cool about it or get pissed
that realy bites! i hope your friends wife has taken responsibility for it as its the person behind the wheel of a vehicle that is responsilbe for anything that vehicle does, tho its got to be a hard situation with friends being involved.... hope its all sorted out fairly

The rear sets look cool and the pegs are a few centimeters up and back, way better quality then the stock one.

My only gripe is the brake pedal is stubby and close to the bike, but the brake pedal is super sensitive now which is a plus, I can easily lock them up and do some skids for fun :p, cause before they were dull and did next to nothing. I might get some pics up later.
I was cool on the outside, no point losing my s.h.i.t. it doesn't do anybody any good, on the inside I was fuming though..
Yes they are going to pay for the damage, just so happens my friend works at the Honda dealership where I got my bike from so he can get the parts for a small discount...

interesting side note: its cheaper to buy and ship a Tyga carbon front fender to Sydney than buy the genuine Honda one

thanks for the info on the rear sets, i might have to order them too

Nooo! that sucks man..
honda one prolly just keeps more of the bikes value due to being the original, usually people who have been in accidents/downed try to customize them and repaint to cover up any damages.which is something to look for when buying used.

i agree about losing your s h i t...makes most situations worse.
and glad to see your friends are responsible adults.
She is paying for the damage or putting it through insurance right?

It really shouldn't be that much to fix though.

Do check hondapartsnation.com, they were pretty cheap for me.

Also I recommend taking the bike apart before you order parts to make sure you got everything you need. Nothing sucks more then almost getting done and realizing you need a new bearing and have to wait again.

Also did you have full coverage, they cover such things!
Sh1t happens; don't go losing your cool, friends, sleep or anything else. Get over it and move on.

I'm kind of surprised how cheap most of this stuff is.
It's all good.. we have managed to get the parts for a great price.. a shade over $100 AUD, so everybody's happy :D

There is no point going through insurance these days in Oz, unless its a total loss of course

I work for bike transport company and I can tell you from first hand experience that the insurance company's here write bikes off that suffer very little damage..

A 2011 CBR 250R .. 18km on the clock was dropped in the guys driveway 2 days after he picked it up, broke the indicator, scratched the mirror and somehow snapped the thumb stop of the triple clamp.. Written off...

Anyway, its a crap story with a happy ending :D................................. not that kind of happy ending........... get your mind out of the gutter :p

I'm surprised they would right it off for dropping it like that, though they are easy to total out because any "damage" to the frame of the bike could consider it totaled. Can't risk sending someone out and finding one of the welds broke in the accident.

Why does Australia get all the good "American" cars haha. I love how all the ones I see on Top Gear are normal family cars with well over 400 hp. It always makes me smile like a little boy.
