Ordered a red 2013 CBR250R last week. Last rode a motorcycle in the early 70's, a Honda 125. It had 2 cylinders and looked big, well at least to a 13 year old. Have been bicycle commuting for over 6 years to work, but having been thinking about a MC for a few years. Still plan to bicycle to work, but ride the CBR to work once per week and enjoy on the weekend.

Took the MSF course 2 weeks ago and have purchased riding gear. Now just trying to have some patience.

Congrats! What part of Arkansas are you in? Lucky! You have such AWESOME roads down there.
I've ridden to Harrison on my FZ1 (730 miles one way) twice this year. We then ride those roads 1,000 miles over three days. What a blast!

What type of bags are you using? This will be one of the first things I add to my bike.
I currently use Firstgear's silverstone saddlebags, (since there aren't any solid mounts for the 250), these have performed well. If you can fabricate your own solid mounts and add hard cases that would be the way to go.
If not these have worked well and look decent on the bike.

Picked up my 2013 red CBR250R ABS today. Having not been on a motorcycle since the MSF course in October proved to be intimidating. I rehearsed in my mind the route, where I would initially ride to acclimate to the bike and then the feared 5 mile interstate ride. You know it was not all that bad, except for the wind at 60 MPH. Once home I went to a large church parking lot and practiced some of the MSF stuff and then off on a country road with low traffic and filled up with some non-ethanol gas. Bike had 1 mile on it and when finished 42. I will post some pics later. Really an amazing ride and the right bike for me.
