Phone charger

I don't see a fuse on the red lead going to the + battery terminal.
It would be a really great idea to install an (inexpensive, but invaluable) in-line fuse of about 2 amp rating. It could prevent a fire...
and what a waste that would be!

Cheers

I nice product idea, I already installed a 12v outlet on my handlebars though. I can power my phone, gps, tire inflator or many other devices from it.
+1...just hangs around handlebars in the ignition key area, none of the wires or plugs get in the way of anything there.

I also have a 2 outlet splitter I stick on the end of that so I can keep my GPS AND Radar Detector plugged in at the same time.

Bought a couple of these last week because they were just a few bucks apiece...I will be drilling a hole somewhere in the fairing and adding one of them for 1 more additional power outlet for a total of 3 in case my ContourRoam or cell phone might need to charge sometime too..

I originally wanted to install a 12v accessory outlet in the fairing but came up short when trying to find the right location. Didn't want a spot where water was going to natually drain, and didn't want to bolt it onto the handlebars.

Eventually decided to mount it just inside the fairing but then found the USB outlet and ended up installing that under the seat.

Would want any accessory outlets to be powered by a relay controlled circuit so that the battery doesn't get killed if you forget to unplug anything when you shut the bike down.

Which USB outlet are you referring to?

Princess Auto here sold an $8 USB outlet, just tie it in to a 12v source and you're good to go.

I had originally planned to hook a relay up to the rear marker light and the battery to power an accessory outlet, but ended up attaching the USB directly to the marker light line.

Doesn't pull much amperage to charge a cellphone or recharge my helmets Bluetooth.
