Moto-D Cell Phone Mount is Cherry! =D

Hey guys, I know a bunch of you probably have smart phones and well we pay for GPS so why not be able to use it!

I didn't wanna shell out 600 bucks for a Garmin since my Evo4g already does that but I couldnt find a good mount to use untill now. Its called Moto-D Racing Cell Phone mounts and I just installed mine today and took a trip all around the island and used all the Highways I didn't know the roads too, the mount is secure the phone doesnt vibrate and its totally locked in there, sorry I couldnt take a pic with the cell phone installed but well its my only camera! haha! Also, the angle can be fully adjusted to your liking, and I tested it out and you can still full tuck on highways no prob!....Check it out!

Looks like it works well, seems somewhat bulky but I imagine it's that way because it's fairly universal.

I do wonder what Garmin you would want badly enough to pay $600??? haha. I paid $25 shipped for my Tom Tom until I broke it (glove box, 100*+, and deoderant... bad idea) And your cell provider makes you pay for GPS?

well compared to the cell phone mount on the other thread I think its nice cause it doesnt have that huge turn lever on it, and its anodized whatever color you want. =) I didnt want a GPS at all really, my evo does that perfectly, now I jsut need to find a way to get power to the phone so it wont die in an hour, stupid evo...
P.S. anybody know how to power the cell phone via the battery or some sort of adapter?

Sprints GPS comes with the DATA plan, but I know other companys do =(

Man, this is perfect! I've been lookin for something like this! I also have an Evo 4g and was wanting to mount it. It looks perfect on the bike. But yea, I'd also like to know how you could attach an adaptor to charge it

I do have a question, how did you mount the case on there? I don't have a case at all. I do have an Evo 4g though, so what case do you have? I'll just get the same case that you have.

Just checked out the website, it explains exactly how to install any phone on the mount. I just ordered mine! =D

Your gonna love it, its VERY secure, my phone doesnt even move! I went around the island today 6 hours, highway, mountains, bumps, and major winds...NO PROBLEM! Enjoy it !

how do u take off that stock black plastic cover thing where the mount goes? i know its a stupid question but i dont wanna mess up anything haha

WARNING! MOTO-D is a rip off! I ordered the mount and the next day I realized that I need to get a refund on it cause I need the money and I'll just order it on my next paycheck. So I email them and they said ok, but we sent it in the mail already. So i said ok, I'll just mail it right back because you guys have a 7-day period to request a refund, and they said ok they will give a refund when I send it back. Anyways, it arrived and I took it back to the Post Office and sent it right back. Mind you I never opened it. A week later, I get an email stating that the product was opened and scratched and he can't resell it and attached pics of the scratches and saying it wasn't packaged right..... I never opened that **** thing in the first place! I just put a new label on it and sent it right back to them! If the thing got scratched it was because they scratched it! They ripped me off and took my **** money! So I say don't order a **** thing from MOTO-D! The bastards took my money for crap they did.

I did it for my iphone. Two steps
1. battery to car cigarette lighter type adapter. (two screws, under main seat) Mine has an extra USB power port as well
2. Cigarette lighter power adapter for your phone or whatever (also under main seat).

Problem with my setup is the D#[email protected]$m iphone overheats and dims after a short time; its useless as a long-time GPS navigation device.

yea thats what I was thinking. I love my cellphone Mytouch4g but doing extra stuff with it just drains the battery. I wouldn't want to use my cellphone for GPS or mp3 player. I do in my car only because I can keep it charged.

Tom Tom is only 25 bucks?? Didn't know they were that cheap. But you can still mount dedicated GPS units also.

I havent got my bike yet, pick it up in a few weeks, but already my accessory want list is growing!

I was doing some research and found a solution for power:
Use a battery charger pigtail. Has a connection to the charger. Advantage of this is the set up is fuse protected I believe.
Then buy the accessory cigarette lighter that attaches to the pigtail. Should provide right amount of power.

I've actually got all the parts next to me to install an outlet. I'm using a relay on mine so that if I leave something plugged in with the bike off I wont drain the battery.

thats a dope mount though. Now that I think about it, if I can keep it powered up, I can use my phone for a video camera! It takes 720p HD video anyway....might as well put it to good (cheap) use! Gotta find a clear case..
