Finally got my Red/Silver CBR250R wed morning..I managed to put 26 miles on it before I had to be at work at 3pm...I am glad i waited..this bike is awesome.
I am impressed at this bikes ability to get up and go..I am 220lbs and it takes off with ease, It corners great and looks even better. I asked the parts chick at my dealer for a pin spanner wrench so i could adjust the suspension since us americans got screwed on the tool kit. They had a generic-Honda standard spanner wrench for $10..if its a Honda and has a suspension..this wrench will work I was told..and it did. I adjusted the suspension from the factory setting of 2 to 3, only to put it back on 2 an hour later because 3 felt too stiff. Also there service manager pretty much repeated the manual to me regarding the 300 mile break in..,so im riding it normal..thru all the rpms..just not redlining it or opening the throttle wide open...my first service will be $70 to $110 and checking the valves will be another $140 (they didnt seem to realize they were supposed to do that??!!) They said i could make an appointment when I was ready, drop it off in the morn..i would have it back late that same afternoon.I will guess that will end up being next week sometime.

I am amazed at the brightness of the headlight..impressed actually...i enjoyed riding home from work about 2am and could see the road as good if not better than in my eclipse spyder or jeep.
I saw some differences in the manual i had versus the one i downloaded from a thread in here...my manual says minimum gas octane of 86 or higher..since standard low grade is 87 then 87 octane it is from now on..and my manual says maximum weight is 366lbs...the downloaded manual says 384lbs??

As far as everything else,my bike was manufactured in thailand in May....I have no vibrations...no tappet noise..my gears change like butter whether sitting or rolling...no rattling over 5000rpm or any other rpm...no spotty welds....i filled the gas tank just fine without spilling any..it doesnt sound like a lawnmower and was actually surprised at the bass it tries to put out while throttling thru the gears.....so just maybe i just got lucky for once in my life..:D

Oh yeah..i forgot..I have only one complaint...the smell!! after my first ride it smelled what i thought was my break pads getting hot..later after it was cool while letting it warm up i smelled it again..so i assume its just the exhaust/catalytic converter ...hope that smell goes away eventually

Congrats and good lookin on the write up spdlls!.. When the lights are on are they more white or more yellow?.. 87 it is!..
The headlight is very bright white..the position lights on the sides of the headlight are very yellow..i would imagine they are that way on purpose for a contrasting look relative to the headlight..i dont believe they actually illuminate the roadway much , if any at all anyway.

i am in north eastern TN, Greeneville Honda....and when they told me $70 to $100 for first service..I knew they were omitting the valve check cuz I had seen the exact same thing written about several times in other threads on here..i was very vocal and probably came off as a smarta$$ when i told them it very clearly states in the service manual (that I had a downloaded copy of)...to check the valve clearance at 600 miles.

thats when he told me it would be another $140..when I asked if they had a service manual ..the sales rep told me it came with the bike..(she was probably lying since thats all she did thru the whole process)
Im with you Worm...if they even have the manual they probably didnt even bother to read it but are going by other hondas service schedules they have done in the past instead.. I would really rather not pay the extra $140 but since a handful of people on here are saying they actually needed new shims cuz they were out of tolerance..ill suffer and pay it...

Wow...sounds like sales are slow and they are trying to pay everyones xmas bonus's and end of year raises by revenue from servicing....if the valves did need shims..it should be part of the original valve check price...sounds like they are trying to fleece you over good there...Hope my dealer doesnt do that crap...they are the only powerhouse dealer within a 100 miles. by the way...call corporate Honda customer service and tell them what your dealer said for service...they will probably tell they cant help you..then again maybe ur dealer is breaking some kind of rule charging you that 1-866-784-1870
