Kingston

here is a number of a dealer in Canada that will ship.
just got the number today from a reliable source;)
Brantumptm powersports at 905 459 0411:)

i like it alot,if i could get one with just a slight mark up i might get one if i can register it.
for just around town i think it would be a blast and run along time on a little amount of fuel.
and my size 160-165lbs it would be plently like my 250.
I talked to the dealer in Kingston, Ontario today. Kingston is an easy, two hour drive for me which is actually closer to my home than the dealer where I bought my 250R. He has two orange CBR125Rs sitting in crates. He called me back after checking and said he has no problem selling them to me but has no experience in what else I would have to do to get it across the boarder and titled and registered in New York.

So it is doable then. Would I need someone on the Canadian side to actually buy the bike, then sell it to me? Any idea how that works?

Tons of CBR125R's available in Toronto or Ottawa. I looked up all the red tape here.

One guy in Florida carries bikes back and forth to Canada all of the time and says the border police never ask to see papers. Registering a Canadian car in the US might be impossible but some people do have Canadian bikes.

Here's Honda UK's website for price comparison between the 125 and 250. I personally wouldn't have a 125 again, they're no good on Motorways. ;)

Motorcycles | Honda (UK)
That skimpy 30mm fork on the CBF125 looks really fragile. But it is cool to see Honda spreading some of these affordable fuel misers around the world. Denver USA had a Mayor (now state Governor of Colorado, possible future USA presidential candidate) that is a rider and featured his campaign on promoting small scooters for use as city transportation. He changed the laws so that they are allowed to park on the sidewalk to reduce parking congestion.
.
Only charging 450L more for the CBR250R vs the CBR125R makes the 250 a much better deal in the UK.

Is the price of cbr250r competitive in the US market? Not so... US buyers are paying a premium for the cbr250r. It's been sold for less than $3000 (non ABS) and $3250 (ABS) in India and other countries. How can they fit in a price for the cbr125 in this market? Even though it is available in the rest of the world, we wouldn't get one unless the 250 prices go up significantly higher to fit in the cbr125's price.
Bikes are really cheap in India! And all the Indian guys complain about the CBR250R being an over priced luxury model! That is terrible on gas around the city! Funny how different points of view can be. But I would say that pricing in the US is still much cheaper than Europe, Asia, Australia, Israel, or Japan.

Is this the same for new and used bikes?[/QUOTE]
I don't really know enough about importing a Canadian bike to the US to say. I might try it next summer.

The Indian sites always seem to quote a BASE Horse power figure which is artificially higher than the rear wheel or crank hp that is normally measured everywhere else. They say 25 for the 250 but it is generally shown at 22.7 hp. The 125 is not detuned for Canada where it makes the full 13 hp at the rear wheel. I expect the real hp of the stock 150 to be about 16. Exhaust, intake, and mixture tuning can increase either bike 1.5 hp. Much of the nice additional weight of the new gen CBR125R comes from the upgrade to more highway capable 17 inch wheels and tires.
.
Like the previous model, new CBR125R is a lower capacity and tuned down version of the CBR150R available in Thailand and some other Asian countries. It is made to comply with the "L" bike regulations in some countries, such as the UK. Some people got a replacement cylinder and piston, and other parts to tune it up to quite a respectable bike.

The new CBR125/150R, outwardly looks the same as the CBR250R. It shares many parts, including, I guess, the faring. However it has a different frame, and some other components, so it is some 25kg lighter at 138kg.... still a bit lardy for a 150 in my opinion. It makes about 19 hp.

The old model was lighter at 115 kg (dry, add 10 kg for fuel), and I guess would have made about the same hp.

The 125 version for the UK market, and no doubt others, had, and will still have, the hp restricted to comply as an "L" plate machine. In some markets I guess it would be sold in unrestricted form.

Here is the are the India spec 2012 CBR 150 & 250 compared.
