Would the price in the U.S. be competitive? Although it would have no competition its size that I know of.

Top speed? Maybe 65-70?
Is the price of cbr250r competitive in the US market? Not so... US buyers are paying a premium for the cbr250r. It's been sold for less than $3000 (non ABS) and $3250 (ABS) in India and other countries. How can they fit in a price for the cbr125 in this market? Even though it is available in the rest of the world, we wouldn't get one unless the 250 prices go up significantly higher to fit in the cbr125's price.

About a month ago, a Montreal Honda dealer had the CBR125RS Repsol listed for $3495.00 CND, out the door. I haven't checked the exchange rate recently, but a month ago it was about even with the US dollar. I wouldn't mind getting one of those bikes, I'm sure it would be a blast to ride.
Yeah I think they'd be a blast. I also happen to live in a very flat area. I think this bike could really be a great city commuter for me.

Weirdly enough, I'll actually be in Montreal in two weeks. I may stop by at a dealer there to sneak a look at one. I'll be at the candy store with no money.:(

So it is doable then. Would I need someone on the Canadian side to actually buy the bike, then sell it to me? Any idea how that works?

Tons of CBR125R's available in Toronto or Ottawa. I looked up all the red tape here.

One guy in Florida carries bikes back and forth to Canada all of the time and says the border police never ask to see papers. Registering a Canadian car in the US might be impossible but some people do have Canadian bikes.

There is a cool candy store right in the heart of the city, called Moto Internationale. Been a while since I was there, they sell top of the line riding gear, parts, accessories. I don't recall the name of the Honda dealer that listed the Repsol Edition CBR125RS.

I wish I could be in Montreal next weekend for the Formula One race. That would be fun.

Here's Honda UK's website for price comparison between the 125 and 250. I personally wouldn't have a 125 again, they're no good on Motorways. ;)

Motorcycles | Honda (UK)
That skimpy 30mm fork on the CBF125 looks really fragile. But it is cool to see Honda spreading some of these affordable fuel misers around the world. Denver USA had a Mayor (now state Governor of Colorado, possible future USA presidential candidate) that is a rider and featured his campaign on promoting small scooters for use as city transportation. He changed the laws so that they are allowed to park on the sidewalk to reduce parking congestion.
.
Only charging 450L more for the CBR250R vs the CBR125R makes the 250 a much better deal in the UK.

Do you think you might be too tall to fit on it?
Yes but for the amount of road riding I do nowadays it wouldnt matter, its just for the odd sunny days to tootle round on, go to the beach etc, its too time consuming converting the 250 back to road use all the time. (and it wears out my BT003's)

Ive got a little old 1980 cb125n ive had since 1992 thats now unregistered but a mate has offered a good price for it as he wants to restore it.. its very straight.

That way I can complete the RZ500 (owned since 1986) properly back to showroom condition over the next few yrs and still have the 250 for track only.
Ive a soft spot for small motorcycles even tho i've had heaps of big bores... that part of my life is over, owned em, toured em, wheelied em, stunted em, and lived to tell the tale.

Gettin old haha.

*Edit- plus I can ride a speed triple & some other very exotic custom bikes every now and then, and Ive got a KFX700 as well on the farm.

Bikes are really cheap in India! And all the Indian guys complain about the CBR250R being an over priced luxury model! That is terrible on gas around the city! Funny how different points of view can be. But I would say that pricing in the US is still much cheaper than Europe, Asia, Australia, Israel, or Japan.

US prices are cheap
4k for the 250 vs our 6k
11k for the 600 vs our 16k
13k for the 1000 vs our 19k

and dont get me started on outboard motors!.. My Honda 90hp was 15k vs 8k in the USA and yet our dollar is stronger.
USA has the cheapest fuel too, its $1.50-1.60 per litre here but still cheap by world standaards.

But wages are alot higher here so its all relative I suppose.

And the Indian bikes are built down to a price with shoddy components and indian quality, thus all the complaints about it.

Is this the same for new and used bikes?

I don't really know enough about importing a Canadian bike to the US to say. I might try it next summer.

It's a very nice looking bike, I loved it when I knew they were selling it.
It's basically the same bike, but little details are different: exhaust, rear pegs, handlebars' blocks in particular seemed to me visibly cheaper.
The frame seems bigger, I wonder if it is more rigid too.

I dind't think about one, when I looked for the 250, because I was giving up from a Honda SH125. In Italy, there is a law against 125s on the highway.

Actually nothing below 150cc (neither 149) should be legally allowed to be inside an Highway (speed limit 130, green roadsigns).

This is because they are the only type of vehicles people under 18 (majority) can drive, with a proper license.
No other reason than INSURANCE: no responsibility = no admittance on high speed roads.
Seems legit.

All this refers to italian Laws.
