I've already posted a few threads here so I guess it's time for an introduction. BTW, this is a great forum and I've learned a lot form the members here.

I'm 48 years-old and have been riding on and off ever since I got a new Yamaha DT100 Enduro back in 1978.
The CBR250R is the first Honda that I've ever owned and I'm quite impressed with its quality quality considering the low purchase price. I was considering a Ninja 300, but I decided to go with the lower cost CBR. In fact, the total cost of the new CBR including the cost of the interest on the loan is lower than just the MSRP of the Ninja 300. I know that the Ninja 300 is quicker and faster, but I just love the way the black CBR250Rs look. I also love the way the dash area looks on the CBR, very clean with the tach in the center.
I find that a 250cc bike is fine for its intended purpose: just cruising around town.
I LOVE 600cc sport bikes, but there is no place anywhere near me that I can open one up...even just a little. There is a drag strip close to my home, but I know that if I took a sports bike there and had an accident on the track my insurance would not cover the loss. It would KILL ME to have that much speed and power and not be able to use it. That's whats great about these little 250s....you can ride the hell out of them and never hit triple digit "Son, the judge is taking your license away for six months" speeds

I'm looking forward to Spring and some warm weather so I can put some miles on it. As of today, I have 160 miles on the odometer.

My wife and I bought a 2012 Suzuki Burgman 400 ABS in November. It's very comfortable for two-up riding around town or on the highway. However, it does not strong like cross winds! I replaced the stock chrome mirrors with black ones from a 2012 Honda Silver Wing. The storage space under the seat is massive. It will swallow two full face helmets, a jacket, gloves, and a picnic lunch all at the same time. I even use it for grocery shopping.

This is a Yamaha Tmax 500. It's a fantastic sports scooter but the seat is so high and wide that it was a total PITA at red lights balancing it on the tiptoe of one foot, I'm only 5'5" tall, with my wife squirming around on back. We traded this in on the Burgman. It felt more like an automatic motorcycle than a scooter. You have to ride one of these to understand just how fantastic they handle. I've ridden sport bikes that do not handle as well as the Tmax...exiting a corner is like being on rails. If I were taller, I never would have gotten rid of it. However, I knew that it was just a matter of time before my foot slipped at a red light I dropped it with my wife on back. I could not stand the thought of scratching this beautiful machine. I probably shouldn't have bought it in the first place, but I got pretty much what I paid for it when I traded it in on the Burgman 400 so no big loss there.

This is a 2012 Ninja 250 that I had last year, but I traded it in when the Yamaha dealer made me an offer I could not resist. I actually like the CBR 250R better than the Ninja 250. If I had test ridden a CBR250R I would have gotten one last year instead of the Ninja. I find the CBR to be much more comfortable than the Ninja. The OEM seat cowl for the Ninja looks and is made a hell of a lot better than the OEM seat cowl for the CBR. It cost $50 less too.

I'm done buying/trading motorcycles for quite some time. I plan on having the Burgman 400 and the CBR250R as my only two-wheelers for the next three or four years. The Burgman 400 is for two-upping with my wife and for interstate use while the CBR250R is my solo around town machine. With these two machines in the garage, all of my riding needs are meet. If I mention buying a dirt bike to my wife, she'll kill me, so I'll let that thought slide for a few years.

War eagle! I also live in Alabama and am in a similar situation. I've done a few passes at the huntsville dragway in my camaro and its a nice little track. Well worth a try
My wife and I love going to watch the pro mods run at Huntsville Dragway.
Dang, does it get hot there watching the races when it's 90 degrees plus. I don't know how the drivers can stand it wearing full race gear.

Those pro mod bikers have more balls than I possess.
