My name is Joey and I just picked up a Black 2012 CBR250R on Saturday. I have now put about 165 miles on it. I got my permit today...missed one question which was something that could have had another answer...oh well. Going to sign up for a class soon enough. I had a little Yamaha dirt bike when I was a teenager and it was way smaller and also way heavier than this CBR. Anyways I love it and come in with a huge smile on my face after every ride, doesn't matter if it's to work, the store or whatever....Would love to meet some folks and maybe ride and learn how to get into some modding, so anyone around the Chapel Hill/Durham area lets do this.

I live 25 miles NE of you - Welcome to the forum!

There are some great places to spend time getting familiar with the bike around you - South toward Jordan Lake, North toward Roxboro, Hyco Lake, Kerr Lake, etc. (yeah, I like having water in my pictures). I'd stay out of downtown Durham / Chapel Hill until you get comfortable, but other than that, enjoy the bike!

Welcome to the site Joey! I'm still awaiting a phone call to let me know that my black 2012 has come in. But I also still have nearly a week left at work before I go home.

Thanks. I am fairly comfy. Been driving around downtown plenty already. Almost more comfortable around town. I think the main roads coming into town like 54 right off 40 is where I don't care to ride but I also don't care to drive there either. I also haven't had enough time to really head out plus I think at this stage I would feel more comfy heading out on a little further ride with another rider. I agree there are some great places to ride around here, plenty of lakes...
