I got the cowl from Honda the other day. I spray painted it myself, but am not satisfied with the results. The clear coat i put on gave the white color a yellowish color. I'll wait until after the New Year and have the cowl and the unpainted bottom fairing painted together to match.

It is the original Honda Cowl. $132 but well worth it for the look. I used Krylon white / clear coat paint. As always, I figured out a better way to do it once I started the process. Hanging the part by a string will help with the run off of paint and not being afraid to use the entire can will also help. By that, I mean, spray in wide strokes, not concentrated streams.

Cire 5th, where do you live in Concord? I'm in downtown next to Plaza Santos. We should get together and ride sometime!
Yea around Taylor St. Im usually on BARF, Bay Area Riders Forum, posting on there. I join group rides there. You should come join us sometime. Next ride will be on New Years Day. Either Mines Rd to the Junction or Lake Berryessa. Check out the group ride section.

It would be cool to see another CBR250R there.

On the Cowl paint job topic......did you sand the black paint off first before painting with white?

You will notice that in the compatible vehicle tabs on that web page..it states the cowl is 100% compatible with the 2011 CBR250R as well..actually says its compatible with 20 diff vehicles..tho the ad is for the cbr1000..thats what I was going by...and the pics they have of the bottom of the cowl looks the same as the bottom of the stock one to me,(2011-2013 are all identical body parts wise)

chrome cowl

for $34 total shipping and all..you can buy this brand new chrome plastic rear cowl off Ebay for our cbr's..and I think it would hold paint even better than the $150 cowl
Okay. I'll be the guinea pig. I have a feeling I'm getting what I pay for, but it won't be the first time (or last time) that I've thrown $$$ away: I'm talking about you, Assassin's Creed 3!

If I don't work I'll turn it into a clock or something.

I'd click on their negative feedback before buying ;/
I did. It's about what I expected. I didn't see anything on this particular item, let alone on the CBR250R specifically. 98.5% isn't horrible. I'm not as picky as most people when it comes to tolerance level of a product.

again, $34. if it's marginal then I got my money's worth.
