Oil filters - limited availability

FYI... Per a bulletin that went out to US Honda dealers today, oil filters for the CBR are in very limited supply and dealers can only order one filter per day.

Can Honda possibly screw anything else up ???

When i had mine in for the 600 mile service, they didn't have the filter. They said that when it finally came in they would call me and change my oil again, and replace the filter... I'm thinking you're right madd-trapper.

It was the same in Thailand.
They didn't come in for months until months after release.
Luckily the KAWASAKI N250R filter is identical and people were able to use them. I bought one and the Honda dealer put it in.
Can get more info if people are interested.

Man, no kidding. Kind of lame when everyone is complaining about waiting on things from Japan when they just had one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history. Chill out. Is the oil filter being made in japan even?
The bike comes out of thailand japan earthquakes wouldnt effect the shipping and building of it.
Well thats assuming is all made in thailiand and not relying on parts ex japan.

since most dealers are only getting one or two bikes...i dont really see how this is much of a problem??!!
I might need to go ahead and get them them to order mine for me... Coming up on 600 miles quick...
They're hard to find. Local dealer has them on back order. I'm putting in 900+ miles this weekend. No filters so I'll just change the oil.

He said, "I have already ordered them but they are on backorder... Let me check if they have an eta... ah... How many miles you got?"
I said, "Just under 500, wanted to make sure you had em before 1st service..."
He said, "Yeah... ah... I will have one by September..."
According to Honda, due to an unforeseen event, they were unable to get them out in a timely fashion. The dealers can order one a day. If they order 10 a day they will still only get one per day once off of backorder.

No need... can get one for under $10 at my door in 7-10 days... Will post links in a few... btw, all dealers are in the USA and have em in stock
