Painted a few couple plastic pieces

I got a little creative at work today and decided to get a couple pieces on the bike painted. The painters had free time during lunch so they squeezed it into the schedule. Had to buy them some pizzas though. $24 later, what do u guys think? Seat cowl+ lower fairing

Too funny. after posting this thread I started to look at some other ones and there was another cbr with a red seat cowl already. But I also saw one that Worm posted where all the silver pieces on the bike was black, which looks really really good. But then Id have to take off my wheels to get them powder coated. The dealer that I bought my bike from said they can powder coat them black for me but itll cost me $700 is that a good price? I dont know how much powder coating costs+removing the wheels if I would get it done anywhere else. Can anyone tell me if thats a good price? I have access to a auto paint booth so painting anything else isnt a problem for me its just the powder coating I have no idea about. And then some red tape around the wheels once they are powder coated black. watcha thinkin
Well I just put some more thought into it and I think Imma keep the pieces silver and my wheels silver too for now. I dont wanna put too much work into this bike just yet, i still have my paper license plates on it. I have other stuff to think about and work on so ill put the bike on hold for now.

Onto another subject. Someone down my street has a 09 ninja 250 with 8k miles on it and in perfect condition. He told me he was gonna sell it to me for $2,200. Which is an awesome deal. I was on my way home from work and he texts me and tells me he just sold to to someone else. Arghhh, I had the money and was gonna get it too.
Looks great man! I really like the look of that lower faring in red. Very nice!
Looks good....what paint did they use? I can't find anyone around my area that has the formula for the paint code and my cousin is a painter at the local Chevrolet body shop he checked with the paint rep and he was no help.
700 seems wayy too steep, not a good price.

I agree with wOrM!.. And 7 bills to powder coat them rims is askin way too much!.. I say no more than $250!..
Even 250 is kind of high... didn't somebody get their's done for like $180 US?
I'm beyond jealous right now by the way... less than half what I paid and ya got another piece painted! Now I might need to steal your idea, it looks awesome, but aren't you worried about rocks and such chipping the lower fairing?

I'll pm you in a week and see how it's holding up against the elements before I shell out some bills ;)

+1
powder coating is best but if properly preped
you could spray yourself with some Krylon
exterior spraypaint in a rattle can.
i did my heatshield glossy black and
it looks as good as the tank.
Shouldn't be more then $80 a wheel for the powder coating then + labor for removing the wheels and mounting and balancing the tires.
todays change

well i got to work today and the painters told me that silver would look better cuz it flows with the bike better. Well they painted the seat cowl today for me and they tinted my windscreen. Heres the pic. And I asked the painters about rocks chipping the paint on the lower fairing and they said they added stuff into the paint so that it wouldnt come chipping off like a banana peel. And our paint supplier didnt have the paint code for the bike neither so they came to the shop with this paint matching machine thingy majiggy. My windscreen was sprayed by the painters with some transparent/translucent whatever paint.

Well I work at a auto body shop and the painters owe me lots cuz of all the times i worked on their cars, I was suprised they even wanted me to pay for lunch. I wouldnt worry too much about the paint coming off if they scuffed/cleaned the part really well to remove oil/grime/armorall/guts/blood. Then put some sealer on it before throwing paint on it. Ask them maybe throw some rock guard in the front section of the fairing where the rocks would be hitting, then slap the paint on. Extra clear for some protection too if you want. But ive seen them do stuff like this before and never had paint problems or complaints from customers. We do body kits and custom work for cars here too.
Looks amazing!

Thanks all for the help. I dont think I need to powder coat my wheels now since my wheels kinda flow with the rest of the bike now. But ill remember this whenever I decide to totally redo the whole bike's paint scheme. So what do u guys think of the new silver seat cowl vs the red one. I like the red one but the silver is growing on me too. But the painters were right the silver does kinda flow with the bike. Now if only they make turbos for this bike:)

I would have painted the rear sides red and kept the red seat cowl I think. I always thought they had too much silver with the red color

I'm kind of on the fence... I like both but I'm leaning towards the silver.
