There is an easy way to get 40hp + , trade it in on a bigger bike its that simple. I can't see the value of dropping a bucket load of cash into a 250cc bike to make it fast when a 600rr would be a lot nicer bike to ride. It's the same deal with cars, spend big $$$ on a whole heap of mods & a stock sls merc would eat u. You can only get 1 gallon of water from a 1 gallon container. Just my 2 cents
Here in Asia there is a lot of restrictions and taxes on bigger CC bikes. Here in Japan anything over 250CC's require an expensive bi-annual inspection. In this regard, I think that a lot of performance enhancing parts will continue to to be developed for the bike. Rather spend $2000 on extra parts then spend that amount every two years for inspection, tax, etc.
On the other hand IMHO... this bike was developed to: A) Look Cool B) Be Economical
Having those two features satisfy 90% of the buyers here in Asia.
