So I am looking at a CBR 250 at a motorcycle dealership with 603 miles on it. I am hesitant since the 600 mile service but besides the 1st servicing what are some reoccurring issues people are having? I am really interested in the 2012 CBR 250R but really am looking for something long lasting and reliable. I appreciate the advice in advance.

reoccurring issues people are having which i can think of off the top of my head:
bike turns off on down shift
vibration at 5.5k revs

what kind of mileage will you be doing at what roads will you mostly ride on as this will effect reliability.

The infamous 5.5k rattle is nothing to be concerned about. It's a single cylinder engine, It's going to rattle some.
I haven't experienced the bike turning of during down shifts, so can't comment on that.

Personally, I have no issues with my bike. Still very happy with it.

You should have them do the 600mile service as part of the deal.

psssst...... One issue we are not supposed to talk about is how some ceebees can't go on the highway. I mean how can you go on the highway where the posted speed limit is 120km/h with a bike that can do more than 160km/h.;)

Take the ceebee, you'll be happy with it.

I had a trip planned when my first service was due !! Dealer said they were booked up BUT they said their main concern was to change the oil. So we did !! And they I was booked in for valve adjustment when I got back from the trip !! First service due at 1000 kms. I did first oil change at 600 kms. Valves at 1400 kms. Dealers said if bike was running well, with no signs of issues, valves would be ok doing a LITTLE later (rather than sooner)!!
Bike has been strong and no issues !! I really enjoy touring on my bike ...over 7000kms in 2012 !!! Can't wait for 2013 riding season to start !!:D
