Has anyone added reflective tape to thier bike, or thought about adding it? I should be getting a black cbr in a few weeks and am looking for ways to make it stand out a bit more at night.

Wear bright clothing or reflective jacket
Thanks for the input. I have some reflective clothing, and should be okay in that regard. I also understand about high beams during the day, and LED's on helmets and stuff.
On the internet though I saw some videos of people adding reflective tape around rims, to headlight housings, gas tank, ect.... I was just wondering if anybody here has either thought about, or done that, and how they felt about it if they did.
train horn

when i get my bike im installing a train horn, anybody thinks of cutting in front of me will s--t their pants, lol
No never thought about it. But I know people who take all the reflectors off for some reason. That doesnt seem like a good idea.
There was a lady i used to see all the time riding with a bright yellow reflective vest. She was stopped at a red light. Some lady PAINTING HER NAILS rear ended her at full speed killing her.
That is a great point. No matter how visable you are, you still arn't.
LOL the air train horns are sick!
As for reflective strips i wouldn't put them on the bike, i would rather wear reflective clothing and LED helmets or what not. If anything just get and HID or really bright LED tail lights.... they should be able to see you then! haha
aerostich.com has some good reflective tape, and helmet arrows. I bought one of their bright yellow suits, and I learned something. If someone is looking at their text messages, they might a well be blind, because they wont see you. That being said I do use the suit and I add 3M reflective tape to small areas aroungd the bike side mostly and rear . Just in case an idiot is in between texts, and needs help seeing.
Do whatever you want to your bike, but don't rely on the tape to be seen.

I gave some thought to a train horn, that would be awsome! If anyone knows where I can get one online, just let me know. I'm also looking for a Digital LED integrated tail light for my CBR.
haven't put it on yet but i picked up some reflective rim tape to help with the visibility on mine too

Good idea..... I saw some reflective tape on sale in a gas station years ago, and reflected on how motorcycles are not all that visible from the side at night. I bought a couple of strips and slapped them on my bike, then checked out how it looked that evening.

A big difference..... a couple of dollars well spent, and spent again on each new ride.

Do it!
Seems to be a great site with lots of useful stuff to enhance visibility of motorcycles.

What I especially like: Invisible black reflective tape which cannot be seen on black colored bikes, but shines white when encountering traffic at night.

I'm not really relying on the tape to be seen, but I'm thinking it would be a cool look if the bike was taped sleek around the wheels, fairings, and tank. Has anyone done anything similar to this?
Side mounted lights

I mounted these LED lights on the side. They are bright Yellow and were originally made for cars. I think they are called daytime running lights. Anyways anyone approaching from the side can see them in the daytime and especially at nighttime. Provided they are not texting or talking on the cell phone:)
