Be careful when joining biker clubs. While most of them are just a group of guys having a good time there are quite a few of them that engage in illegal activities and don't advertise (like the 1%-ers do)

Hey Hunter, welcome to the forum.

What part or North Texas are you in? There are lots of rider groups around here, what I've seen with the sport bikers are mostly a bunch of hooligans though. The rest are cruiser and touring groups who enjoy finding straight back roads.

This is why I mostly ride alone. There's lots of decent (none I'd call particularly *great*) roads in the area, but if you're around DFW you'll have to ride a bit to get to them.
