Why you may be asking? Because the stock exhaust looks like dogshit and because I feel like it. Anyway's, will running the bike without a muffler for a prolonged period of time damage the bike in any way? If so, how will it damage it? I know that it will slightly alter the back pressure on my engine but even then wouldn't it be fairly minimal and wouldn't this only effect mpg and specs rather than any actual damage?

It will no doubt burn out the exhaust valves, run lean & run like crap.
Buy a slip-on at least, also is it worth the fine when officer plod pulls you up?

Remember what I said on 'that other thread'? Well.. After seeing this I retract it all! :D

I really hope for his bike's sake that the OP is simply trolling us along and not at all serious about running with no pipe.
Otherwise MotoMike is gonna be this weeks champion on Jeopardy :)

I would recommend to leave the exhaust on the bike!

1. In many countries it is not legal to ride without an exhaust.

2. The exhaust gases won’t come out behind you, but direct from the engine under you, they are hot, so will move upward an you will breathe them in, especially when not moving, for example waiting in traffic, that would be weather pleasant nor healthy.

3. Take a look how the exhaust looks like:

After removing the exhaust water or dirt could come into the cylinder head, maybe also into the combustion chamber, and that would not be good for both parts of the engine and their components.

4. The motorcycle will be very loud.

If you don’t like the original exhaust you can put another one on the bike, but in my opinion that’s a waste of money and time.

Let us know about your experiences on the CBR250R without an exhaust, if you have them.
