Just got my bike yesterday and other than two issues, the bike was spotless. The two issues are:

1. The bike was left out for about 6 months when the previous owner lived in an apartment. No cracking or tears in the seat, but there is some discoloration. Any suggestions on a conditioner that might help get it back in shape.

2. The stock silver heat guard on the exhaust has some small scratches and scuffs on it. I cleaned the guard with some solvent and got any dirt off of it, but it did not remove the scratches and scuffs. Any suggestion on how to get those out short of painting it

Thanks,
Joe

1.) Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner and Protectant or Back to Black
2.) The heat shield is painted, so try a car scratch remover like Nu Finish Scratch Doctor or Meguiar's Scratch 2.0

1. Not sure about conditioning it, but I've had seats on old bikes recovered with new fabric from locals at their house for like $20 and looked nice. Another option is that people always sell stock seats on here, you could make a topic asking for one to buy or look on past topics some may still be for sell.

2. You can buy a new black stock exhaust cover for like $25. Forgot where they sell the black one but I know for sure partzilla has the silver for cheap. They don't list 2013 which is black. Sat and thought bout it, #6 , black but $35. Honda Motorcycle Parts & ATV Accessories OEM Dirt Sport Bike Scooter Cruiser Touring Parts Off Road Motorcycles ATVs Starter Motors

Other people should be able to tell you where you can find it cheaper, or look up past topics bout it. Some people wrapped it with carbon fiber looking stuff but all depends what you want. Turtle wax is a good wax for scratches though and it loves the bike.

Just repaint it with the high-temp flat black paint they use for BBQ grilles.
I ordered a black muffler cover. Cost $35 + shipping, took 6 months to arrive because of back-orders since it was always out of stock and I can't tell any difference between it and the old one I painted while I was waiting.

For the seat I use Meguiar's Motorcycle Vinyl and Leather Cleaner/Conditioner.
One of the nice features of it is that it does not leave a slippery finish on the
seat.

I actually saw a YouTube video of a guy that painted his black CBR250's heat guard black. It really looked awesome. Not sure what it would look like on a red/silver model though.

Good advice. I did see a silver exhaust cover on Honda PartsHouse for $26 brand new. If buffing it doesn't work, I'll just order one. Maybe I could paint the original black as a backup.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts.

I put the gold gel insert into the seat & had luimoto make me up a repsol cover with the logo embroided into it. Yeh I know it's not cheap but it does feel good & you don't slide around on the seat as the texture is like a grip.
