Shipping delay

just fyi... An announcment from Honda to its US dealers this past Monday (5/9):

"2011 CBR250R Shipping Delay

Due to shipping issues from our factory, the May release of CBR250R will be delayed. We anticipate these units to arrive late June..."

Bummer, but not so unexpected. Things have to be pretty bad for Honda to notify the dealers this way..........

Glad I got mine, dealer only got 2 of the 3 they were expecting. It would suck to have to keep waiting, even though its worth it.

Yeah my dealer just told me yesterday the same thing. Says Honda told him more units are supposed to hit the US in the next few weeks. He said he was trying to find me one somewhere else, but I think Im done with this thing. Oh well

I saw that notice the other day. Bummed but I'm still waiting for this bike.

I already gave up and bought another bike. Yesterday when i walked into my dealer he told me it was a good thing i did as the delivery date has been pushed back AGAIN. Now maybe late June. Not wasting half of the riding season. These bikes should have been on the floor back in march. Honda screwed everything up and pissed off a whole lot of people.

I still have the first red ABS CBR250 that comes to West Hills Honda but will be riding my new (to me) 2008 V-Star 250 while I wait. That is, if I'm not on my CM450c

Amen man I feel the exact same way. My dealer keeps saying theyre doing everything they can to get one in, etc. and that his Honda rep is working on it, but I know he's hoping I'll just keep waiting on this thing. He's wrong. This week I will be buying the backup.

So I'm confused... I walked into the dealer and bought mine. Yesterday I went to another dealer with a friend and they had one just like mine just sitting there.

Yeah I confused too, that's kind of why Ive gotten so frustrated over this bike. Seems like some places have gotten em, while others won't for quite a while. I've heard of these bikes coming in as close as a couple hours drive away, and my dealer is saying late June..maybe. Who knows

'06 CBR600RR from a friend of mine. 5800 miles. Same price as I was gonna pay for the 250. Tons of aftermarket stuff including Yoshimura exhaust, upgraded brakes, chain and other stuff. He bought a cruiser and doesn't ride it anymore. He's also throwing in a stand, cover and some other stuff

Thats a sweet ride. After finding out how well this style of bike handles and is so comfortable I may get a 600rr next. I'll never go back to cruisers.

Take it from someone who's owned two 600RRs (an '04 and '05) - do yourself a favor and do a lengthy test ride in city stop and go traffic before you actually buy it. The 1000 and 600 RRs have far more agressive ergos than the 250R - pretty brutal for day-to-day commuting in heavy traffic.

You may be right about that. I know Kawasaki and Yamaha have sport bikes that dont have such an aggressive position. I used to have a Kawi ZR7 which was pretty relaxed.

Dealers are rated for preferential treatment by Honda (USA). The top tier Honda only dealers got theirs last month. The lower tier dealers, like mine, are at the back of the line. Mine is in the 'end of June' batch...
