We're getting hammered again today with snow. So far this morning about 7" have fallen in 3 hours time. Should see close to a foot and a half before this storm moves out of the area.

Total snowfall here since Nov. 1st is around 80" and counting. After last winter's lackluster snow pack, and with "El Nino" being in control this winter, it should make for a banner snow season in southern Colorado.

I'm not really up to speed with the UK market for used Harleys but it's rare here to see one being ridden by anyone under 60 years of age, so they need to broaden their appeal before their customer base literally dies off.

When I went to the UK Motorcycle Show in November I had a demo ride on an Indian Scout Bobber. That was a pleasant experience but I'd have to be very rich before buying something that impractical. The rear mudguard is so short that organisers were making everyone who rode that bike wear a fluorescent vest to keep the spray from the wet roads off the jackets they were loaning.

I heard that 85% of all Harleys ever made are still on the road.


The other 15% made it home.:laugh:

I've booked to go out and meet up with a friend up there to ride the ice roads on fatbikes. But not until mid March when it should be just a little warmer. Back in England I was out on my fatbike in -6C (21F) a couple of nights ago. As long as I kept moving I was reasonably comfortable.

I grew up in southern Wisconsin, cold and damp in the winter and hot and muggy in the summer. No thank you. I enjoyed Montana until my wife was ready to retire and then we moved south so she could enjoy it too. I do enjoy year round riding.

That looks like a lot of fun! I see a lot of fat tire bikes around my area. Durango (as is nearby Moab, Utah) has become a hub for mountain biking.

I've seen pic's & video's of some pretty nice backcountry snowmobiling in Sweden too, similar to the mountain terrain we ride here in Colorado.

Snowdonia's another place I'd like to see a bit more of, especially on one of the rare days when the weather's that good. But I'd be torn between taking a motorbike or a mountain bike.

A motorbike will give you the opportunity to see all the area in a couple of days or so then you can go back later with your mountain bike to specific places. I've been a voluntary National Park Warden for 55 years so know it pretty well. Came up here in 1962 with RAF Mountain Rescue.

I don't ride my street bikes in the winter, but do get out on the dirt bikes occasionally.

Saw a BMW rider on the road last night. It was 4F and the roads were still partially snow covered and icy in spots from yesterday's 2" snowfall.

No idea why you would do that, but whatever...
