South Mountain, Phoenix AZ

Took a ride to South Mountain today before it gets too hot in Phoenix (It was 86F today). 8 miles (or so) of the twistiest roads in Phoenix. South Mountain is a desert preserve with miles of hiking trails, and a great road surface. You can't go too fast, but the twists, turns, and views make up for it.

Nice! Is that a wide angle lens that you used for a few of those pictures?

All pics were taken with my iphone 4S. I used the Panorama setting built into the phone for the wide angle stuff. I was actually impressed when I got home to look at the pics on a big screen.

I've been meaning to check out south mountain and maybe bring up the DSLR for pictures.

Should let me know if you want to setup some group riding, I bet there are others around that'd like it...

It's not a bad ride. You get the occasional chubby muscle car straying into your lane and it gets busy pretty quick.

Try out the mcdowells as well. Last time I went up there we got rained out tho.
