where is Badger on this one heh !?:D

nice buddy ... but be careful because splittin lanes like that will get you taken out :(

specially on the mc41 ... there is not too much punch in the motor to "get out of there"
you probably have a better chance on a cool gixxer or , now that the secret is out , a 600rr

kind'a reminded me of the black devil video:cool:............ but slower :D

I wasn't really going that fast. Everything looks faster on the Sony action cam because of the distortion. But yea, I try to split as safe as possible.

you don't have to tell me .... i already knew this :D:D
the GoPro made it look like i was going in warp speed

... but seriously , don't want to sound like a cool-guy :(

switching lane and hitting the brakes is just as fun , if not more fun because you can hit the gas again

all it takes is one dummy's wrong move and you are toast

and then they will say "he was splitting lanes and driving erratically"

is still a cool clip , don't get me wrong , but i was sweating a few time when it was un-nessesary to split through.... but then again is ME talking here

i try to make wheelies on my MC41.... that un-nessesary ... but at least it teaches me bike control ...and don't break the "other rules"

next vid ..i'd like to see you working that traffic , remind me of FL highways ... is dangerous but it keeps you on-point (if you make it)

again , i like the video ... just concern'd ........

....for the motorcycle :rolleyes::D:D
(just kidding brother) :)

BTW-know it feels good splitin'em ...... try it at 140 with 5 other bikes and "lights" behind you
(now that will rock-your-socks-off)

(just kidding , don't try that either) :D:D:D

Thanks for the concern bro. The reason why we split is because in California, it's legal (more like permissible to do it) and half of, if not most, drivers know this. They see me in their sideview and move to the left. You'll notice that in my video. Every time they move to the left, I hit the gas and pass them. When the cars are at a standstill, I watch out for gaps where bad lane changers might try to pounce on.

It's just that, when you're behind a car and the driver moves over for you and you don't pass, the driver can get frustrated and have an uneasy feeling with you behind him. It's best to just pass and move on.

I hope this doesn't turn into a lane splitting debate. Just want to share the video so you guys can enjoy watching it.

CA traffic is very similar to FL traffic .... you guys went from 80 to 10 to 80 in like 2 seconds (someone must have been updating their status) (status reads: "being inconsiderate on I-10)

nice clip still

BTW-here is "permissible" .......if they don't "catch" you ;):D:D

aaahhhh reminds me of my road home after work on the 91 here in OC.

they've remove the carpool lanes, so now we have a really wide inside lane, no cats eyes or slippery yellow lines.

i lane split everyday, standstill and moving, just take extra care when you do it with those white plastic bumps... while you are not riding over them, if you have to break/swerve then you're gonna have a hard landing.

nice camera angle though.. thanks for sharing

No problem. I'm always recording while riding now, so hopefully I can catch some interesting stuff. The 91 freeway isn't so bad on a bike :)

A very fine example of "lane sharing". Well done! I have been doing it for decades. I have been knocked off the bike on two occasions. Each time the car driver changed lanes into me. The driver says "Gee, I didn't see you".

The best safety device for splitting is a white helmet. Somewhere deep in the psyche that says "COP!" and they "see" you. The majority of butthead drivers that try to block you will be in German cars. The simply bad drivers used to be Volvo (safety-mobile) drivers. These days Prius drivers take the cake. I think they are hypnotized by the fancy dash.

That never made sense to me.. The European cars cutting off bikes. They risk there nice cars being tampered with by a group of bikes that can easily get away after messing with there car. Lol
I was on a group ride of like 30 ppl and a beautiful BMW starts swerving over so we couldnt split through, the end result was a broken mirror a couple scratches on there car and why?! just cuz they wanted to piss off some bikes. NOT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in California haha

Looks about right! How much was your camera?

I used to hate the 91but know it's not to bad:D
I got the wifi model where you can use your smartphone as a viewfinder. It cost $268 on Amazon. But I don't find myself using the wifi function much. If you plan on getting one, just get the $200 non wifi model.

Nice video... I could watch that all day. Without debating the risk of lane sharing I don't know that I could do it. Looks fun but I'm too scared to try.
I was scared as first too. I didn't start lane "sharing" until after a week or two of riding. Just remember to anticipate the drivers actions and watch out for hazards that are bound to happen. You just need to be super aware when splitting.
