Hi everyone,

I'm attempting to instal some bar end mirrors on my CBR250R 2012 and running into some difficulty in keeping the mirrors in position after a ride. From the factory the bar ends spin, which with the wind resistance of riding is pushing on the mirrors and they are moving out of place and move quite freely when touched.

Has anyone managed to stop the bar ends from spinning from inside the handle bar?

What is impacted if you can't spin them freely? why do they spin?

I've attempted to search through the forums and can only find two bar end mirror installs which neither address this issue.

thanks in advance :smile2:

google 'bar end mirrors installation spinning' or similar key
for lots of responses to similar installation problems on
various bikes using different brands/types of mirrors..

always helps in such things to specify brand/type etc..

as a general factor it seems tightening is a factor
[perhaps needing to use a power tool etc]
or perhaps using extra thick rubber or,
reducing the size of oversized rubber
when rubber mounted..

members here would want to know the brand/type
and size of mirrors and installation requirements
and how you did your install etc, to give
helpful advice..

hey shisoshin. thanks for the reply.

truth be told - thats probably one of the only things I hadn't searched for hah.

from what I can see no matter how right you screw the darn thing, it continues to spin as thats how its designed to work (they've always spinned as long as I've had the bike prior to installation of mirrors)

these are the mirrors I've got

Universal Motorcycle 7 8" Handle BAR END Rearview Mirror FOR Honda Yamaha Black | eBay

will give that search a go and report findings.

cheers, Nick

I have psr bar end mirrors. The shop just used a impact screw driver to get out the bar end and install the mirrors. Never had a issue.

hey guys, think i may have solved the problem. I used the plastic tube pieces (and cut them down) and removed the bar end weights all together and they seem to have stopped them from spinning once tightened. will go for a ride again and see if they still move. cheers shisoshin for the suggestion.
