So anyone have any ride reviews for this bike? I have been looking at this for about a week now and I really like it. It reminds me of an old Norton or Triumph. Takes me back to when I was 12-13 and my brother in law had old Honda CBs in his garage.

If Honda can't fix mine, this might be a consideration.

I just saw a TU250 at the dealers the other day parked next to the 2012 CBR250s. I was a little surprised at how small it looked even next to another 250. It does have a nice old-fashioned standard bike look to it. Reminds me of a baby Triumph Bonneville.

I learned on one of these, and it was great! 1st and 2nd gear are pretty choppy tho... I kind of have a tainted review tho, because it's on this bike that I learned throttle/clutch control. And since I was such a rookie, I don't think I got the bike over 60mph.

Super comfy riding position, handled great. I took my MSF test on this bike too.

I cross-shopped the TU 250 with the CBR earlier this year, rode one for about 20 minutes. For someone my size, 6'1" 245#, it was a bit gutless for anything other than city riding. It's about 6 hp down on the CBR but when you are starting with 24 or so hp that's a huge % drop. Someone smaller might like it more.

It's a nice bike and I love the retro look. If only it was a 350...

Just FYI it's not immune to stalling issues either, and I'd guess they sell a lot less then the CBR250:

I just read those..seems like an easy fix for that bike. General consensus is the idle screw. Only if the CBR was that easy. I would rather turn a screw on that than have Honda replacing the spark plug cap and still scratching their heads.

TU250? Two words: AIR COOLED. Ouch. 'Nuff said.:D
Doesn't bother me, I have had air-cooled machines before and ran them pretty hard, they didn't overheat or blow up. Of course if I did get this bike, it would be a commuter more than my CBR is so..that means speeds of 45-50 with frequent stops.

I thought about buying the bike. I even got to drive one during my MSF course. My feeling is that it is not a highway capable bike at least not like the cbr. Also, not crazy about air cooled and no abs, but it is a good looking bike and a fantastic commuter bike. My feeling is cbr is definitely "best bang for the buck"

I have owned a second-hand TU for about a year. It's a fine, simple bike, and very forgiving of new rider errors such as releasing the clutch too quickly. With classic styling plus modern electronics and fuel injection, it's a head-turner that's very reliable. My daughter is learning to ride on the TU. When she's not using the TU, I'll use it to commute every now and then. Air cooled -- no problem. Although a bit on the small side, the TU would be a superb daily commuter on roads up to about 60 MPH.

We had a TU250X in my MSF class too. I wanted to ride it as a demo, since I had not yet purchased by CBR250R and thought I might like it. As I was walking toward it, though, a dude snuck in front of me and claimed it.

I was left with a Yamaha Virago 250 V-twin cruiser...wow that thing was tough to ride in the U-turn box! No tach, but it had decent power and brakes.

I really wanted one of these for the longest time. Every time I saw a used one for sale within distance from me I called about it. The last guy i talked to was 70 years old and was selling it because the TU was too slow for him and he bought a ER6.

I finally got a chance to put a few miles on one when my brother showed up with a mint example with less than 1000 miles on it. I really liked the whole vibe. It was comfortable and very easy to ride.. however I'm glad I got the chance to ride one before I bought one, it's just too slow for what I was looking for. I took it on the highway but it barely maintained 63 mph.. which was probably closer to 55mph. It was also extremely light. I mean, it felt like a bicycle, Almost too light.
Too give you an idea of what I thought of it, after riding it a few miles, we had a coffee and turned back around, my brother asked if I wanted to ride it back home, I said no thanks.
I rode it once more after that and my impressions were the same, just not enough get up and go for me. My brother felt the same way and sold it within a few months.
