Got pulled over today on my CBR600. Going through a 45mph zone at the edge of town, at some point the road turns into a 65mph zone as it opens up. Apparently I made that transition a little soon.

Well, some guy on an R1 or R6 or somesuch was pacing me, didn't think much of it. Two motorcycle cops pulled us both over.

My cop asked me if we were together; I told him I don't know the guy. I handed him my papers, and about that time it came to light that the guy pacing me didn't have an M1 license or permit or anything. He was even acting like he didn't know he had to have a license to ride a motorcycle. The cop handed me back my stuff, told me to slow down and went to deal with the squid. I rode off into the sunset.

So, whoever you are, young sir, thanks for being dumb enough to take the heat off me.

They get people for speeding up before the higher speed limit sign here too. Mainly when the police are bored. LOL

Yeah, our local PD took some heat on their ticket writing. Chief said there was no quota policy, but a consulting firm reviewed the records and found that tickets tripled the last week of each month. We have a new Chief now. He also has a ongoing criminal investigation against him by the state. Don't get me wrong, I'm pro police. Used to work for them before going private sector where the $$$ was. But he needed to go. TX.

Actually a lot of agencies do have "quotas" and EVERY agency charges for absolutely unrelated crap. Around here you get a speeding ticket, you're also paying into the EMS funds even if no accident involved. (ok so possibly related charges) but bc of that it doesn't take long for a $20-30 fine to jump up $100+. But usually the "quotas" are activity trackers bc if two people work the same area and one has tons of activity and the other has none then sommmeeoonnee is not doing their job!
