The Wait is Over

On Friday morning I called the dealership where I put my deposit down to check the status of my delivery. The news wasn't good. They told me the date has been pushed back again (to mid July). That wasn't what I wanted to hear so I got on the Honda website and started calling every dealership with 100 miles to see if anyone might get one sooner than that.

After several calls to other places with the same vague answers on dates, I found a dealership about 45 miles from where I live. I asked them when they might be getting a black one in. The guy is like, I have one right here on the floor... in fact, I have a red one too.

 <--- after several seconds of this, I said please let me talk to as sales person right now!

Long story short, I put down a deposit, then drove over to my local dealer and got my deposit back. I made the 40 minute drive down to sign the papers this morning and now I'm officially a CBR250r owner!

To make it even weirder, when I got to the dealer, they had not one, but TWO black CBR250rs! Apparently someone brought one back. I was tempted to buy that one. That offered it to me for cost but It wasn't worth it to save one $300.

Here' the proof... my fuzzy photo of 3 CBR250s on the showroom floor, right next to each other. (the one in the foreground is the one that was returned - the stickers had been removed). Mine is the third one over. It's kind of hard to see but it really is! :D

Congrats..glad you found one close by.
Is it a regular dealer, or powerhouse dealer? Are either of them abs? Just curious!
Congratulations and welcome to the cbr250r club. :D Good for you for the leg work> Going to be an even sweeter ride:D

This place was in the middle of nowhere. It's a tiny little place. I think they sell a lot of 4-wheelers there. They sold 3 while I was waiting to fill out my paperwork. lol

Out of the 3 they had none of them where ABS.

They don't deliver it until next week. I couldn't pick it up since my girlfriend is out of town and I have no ride to get all the way out there. They're going to drop it off at my front door... then I ride! :D
Its about time. Why didnt you ask i wouldve driven you there. Im always up for a road trip.
Way to go worm!! Glad to hear another stoked rider get their ride..
I know the feeling of the wait... had mine delivered too..then it rained for about 3 weeks..nice pics
I just was the safety course was sooner. I can't wait to get on the road!
Are you a first time rider? This bike will treat you right.. just take it slow..i made a reservation for a motorcycle safety course in march and they were booked til august but the bike is too tempting to let sit for more than a hours once you have it..vroom vroom..

Yep. I'm a complete newbie. I did a lot of BMX when I was younger but motorcycles are completely new to me.

I with you... no way I could have waited until August! It's killing me to wait until next week! lol
you got all your gear yet? Also try to find a nice big parking lot you tool around in practice finding the friction zone on your clutch, braking, goin thru gears, i ride around my neighborhood at night cause theres no traffic, good luck waiting... thats the hardest part!!
Yep. A buddy of my who's been riding for 30 years helped me pick out some good quality gear.

That's exactly what I intended to do. Being a newb, I want to take it slow and really learn the bike before I start running to the roads. I'm actually really looking forward to learning the basic skills.
Youve got the right frame of mind..i teamed up with a buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago and we rode out of town to some nice country roads and a 55 mph state route..rode for about 2 an a half hours..it was awesome. the longest ride ive taken to date, but learning the basics before hitting the road really helped..especially the the confidence factor..
That sounds awesome... once I'm ready, I want to do a day trip to Red Bluff. It's about 3 hours away so it should make for a pretty good ride. Mostly it's on low traffic highways and back roads. Looks pretty sweet too...
