I use a cheap pencil style gauge. It's the easiest to carry everywhere thus it gets used a lot. I calibrated it against a good dial gauge (it close enough that the pencil scale could just be used as is).

I'm all for the pencil type gauge. They're small & easy to keep on the bike.
They're not all equal though. I've seen a few that vary greatly (up to 4 lbs) so I always compare a new one to a gauge that I know to be true & accurate.

If space isn't an issue I also like the dial type with the air release valve. But because of space I keep that type of gauge in the cage.
