I don't have my CBR250R yet, but fully intend to get one. I would like to have a few things lined up for it, so I can tinker on it from day 1.

I saw this post by BiohazardCycles that lists mods for a more aggressive riding position and lean angle. On it, he lists:

SATO RACING H-C250RS-BK BLACK REARSETS
YOSHIMURA 500BG122500
BLACK ALUMINUM AL REARSET BRACKETS
WOODCRAFT CFM 12-1537 CLIP ONS (These ones may be better).

I would like to do that at a minimum, but I'm wondering, since I plan to get rid of the stock front-fairing, headlight housing, etc anyway; what should I plan on getting in terms of handle bars? If I eliminated the front fairing (actually replacing it with more of a dustbin), could I use more aggressive-clip-ons?

I'm thinking something like this, only before I begin with the special fairing and vintage racing seat, first order of business is to get the riding position as aggressively-racer as possible.

Is that a compliment, or an insult? ;)
I'll take it as a compliment. :D

I know it'd look funky compared to other bikes on the road. I've never seen a dustbin fairing in person.

I plan on using Airtech-Streamlining to help me with that part.

Welcome aboard Matey. ;)
Thank you!

These forums really move fast. Seems like a very active community compared with my Zuma buddies.

Lol....whew!! Had me going there Mate. ;)
Try not to take me too seriously, it's my British sense of humour. It can, and often does get taken the wrong way in other parts of the world, especially in text on a forum. I think Aussies/New Zealanders understand it better than most. It'd come across totally differently face to face, said with a knowing look, a wink and a smile. I hope. :D ;)

No worries my friend. I come from British roots and usually get the dry wit ha ha. I posess a sarcastic sense of humour which I can conclude may get taken the wrong way (which is why I have offered more than one apology on this forum :eek:)

The dustbin look is über-cool. Are you going to start with a low-mile bike that somebody dropped? Might save some money that way, sine you'll likely be discarding a lot of cosmetic parts anyway.

That's the plan, yeah. I guess that would mean 2011+, because I do want the PGM-FI.

Not sure I can save a TON though. These Hondas retain their value great.

Right now, I have a pit-bike project for my Zuma 125. The Zuma, aged 3 years and only 850 miles was about 2k. I wouldn't expect to pay less than 3k for CBR250R though, even with the fairing cracked.
