Seems this thread just died off with no final report from roberthood about "what parts" the dealership ordered, if it ever fixed it, etc. The fuel treatment option recommended by mikestib1 (adding 1oz of Chevron Fi per gallon of fuel) sounds interesting as does the airflow issue.

So either we came up with a solution, or everyone on this thread having this issue just sold their CBRs :)

Is it possible that as with some things in general that are hot off the press, it gradually goes away once the bike has been "broken into?" You know how...how your car needs to warm up first before putting it in gear vs. driving it away cold? With this same bike being sold on Craigslist in the 15-20k miles, we don't suppose that the CBR250 needs to "warm up" its first thousand miles before it starting to see these issues go away, do we?

...or perhaps it's because we all just moved it to another thread :p

Just died yesterday morning for the 2nd time in 24k miles. Not too worried about it, but I was yet again very lucky it happened when pulling the clutch in coming up to a light. Had it been in a turn, things could have ended very badly.
