Made the switch today from smoking cigarettes to a vape. My habits used to be lighting up before i got on the bike and then right after, after every meal, and on breaks at work. Almost everyone i know that tried vaping has quit cigarettes. I picked up a volcanotube with a kanger protank 2 but might exchange for an evic and keep the protank.

Does anyone else here vape? Any suggestions or tips? Favorite juice?

Is that an ecigarette? I guess they are just vaporizers.
I've never used tobacco, but I have a good friend that smoked for years (we are in our fifties). Her husband began using the ecig a couple of years ago. I don't know when she started, but she put him in charge of it and told him to dial her back on the nicotine until she was at 0. She finally quit it because keeping track of it was more hassle than it was worth. Hasn't had a real cig since January.
She said she has gained 50 pounds, but she was less than 100 last year, so that won't kill her.

Both my parents smoked. All four of us kids hated it and never started.

Both my wife and I tried the e-cigerettes for at least 6 mo. and both of us gave up on them. We found it difficult to keep track how much you smoke by using them, they don't burn away and you have to keep time or count how many drags you take to make a comparison to real cigarettes. There is also the concern from the fact that somewhere between 100% and 110% of the e-cigs are made in China and we all know how concerned they are with quality control and health safety. It wasn't that long ago all those lead testing devices were sold to check kids toys from China. If something was from China you didn't put it in your mouth.

I switched a year ago.

Ahlusion is the best place for juice if you're stateside.

When I do smoke "real" cigarettes now they are no longer refreshing, and I often feel like crap the next day.

I still just smoke during breaks at work, but when I'm at home the e-cig often turns into a binky.

No side-effects to report yet after a full year of usage (except for good stuff from quitting smoking). I do feel like a total dweeb if I'm ever caught using it in public though.

And as far as ahlusion goes, you can only order from them online during there business hours.. definitely worth the hassle, don't waste time on anyone else.

I switched to vaping over a year ago now. I've smoked 30 a day for most of my life. I've given up a few times in the past, but always started again under times of stress etc. I think it's great, and does save me a lot of money. I estimate that I can get around 4 months worth of fluid for the price of a week's supply of cigarettes (they're over £7 for 20 over here). I feel a lot better for it too.

These are my favourite liquids.

Virginia Rolling 30ml (3 Pack)

British BH Gold 30ml (3 Pack)

I use these clearomisers with replacement 1.8 ohm coils.

Kanger T3 Clearomiser 2.4ml

And I use these batteries.

nicotine is a 'highly addictive narcotic drug'
in the same poisons schedule category
as is heroin..
nicotine is also a 'supertoxin' in the same
category as are strychnine, arsenic etc..

often the hardest nut to crack in any
field of endeavour is asking the right
question..
in this case, the question is not as to
which form of nicotine to be addicted to
rather, do i really want to be a
narcotic drug addict[?]
do i want to take a 'supertoxin'
half hourly every waking hour
of every day of my life..

this is not a matter of morality
or what i or anyone thinks is
right or wrong, in personal
behaviour.. rather it is
a matter of rational
life decisionmaking..

if nicotine addiction was an elephant
then riding without a helmet
would be a mouse..

this is not about your right to
choose to not wear a helmet,
rather what you would choose
to do, when understanding the
realities involved, and capable
of making such decisions..

i quit smoking at 21 after 10 yrs..
having made the decision, to stop,
not,, to think about it or to quit
next week etc, it was easy..
took about 10 days, after which
i seriously couldnt understand
why i could have kept on
taking the 5hit, every day
for 10years...

havnt had a cigarette since..
the idea of it, or of any other form
of nicotinn addiction, is so alien
as to be ridiculous verging on
'fall over laughing' ridiculous..

if i can do it, anyone can..

I have a acquaintance who lives in Vegas as well. About a year ago he switched to "vaping" (never heard that term!) with something that cosmetically looks just like a cigarette. In fact it comes with different color tips because people in smoke-free bars and restaurants sometimes complain that he is "smoking" when he uses the white tip with the tan "filter". I think one of them is pink and one of them is polka dot and so on, so you would never mistake it for a real cigarette.

My wife and I quit cold turkey about 15 years ago. I could have never done it without her support. Never felt worse in my life for a couple weeks. Can't imagine how bad I would feel today if we hadn't quit. Old age is tough enough without extra handicaps.

there is no doubt whatsoever that the hundreds of toxins
carcinogens and HUMAN CARCINOGENS! in tobacco smoke
are the overriding danger in smoking..

thus it is also beyond doubt that any, clean form of nicotine
cant be compared to, highly dangerous tobacco smoke..

just watched a doco on the life of albert einstein,
who couldnt be accused of lack of intellect
yet who could be seen smoking tobacco
in his tobacco pipe..

despite einsteins noted brilliance and ability
to understand, like everyone else smoking
tobacco he simply didnt know what we
know today about human carcinogenic
content and so on..

he, like the billions of tobacco smokers
also no doubt thought he 'liked it'..
a sentiment expressed via whatever
intellectual capacity they may have
by virtually all narcotic addicts
at some stage in their addiction..

so long as you know, and dont care,
que sera sera...

I started using an ecig about a month ago when I started remodeling the inside of my house and didn't want to smoke inside anymore...Thought I'd use it as a "fill in" when I didn't want to go outside to smoke. Haven't smoked tobacco since...I cough a lot less and allergies are better....The fact it resulted in me giving up the real thing was a total surprise.

while non tobacco sourced nicotine is obviously far and away
preferable to the 400 or so dangerous chemicals including
human carcinogens[!] part of tobacco smoke, some folk
should be aware of specific risks of any nicotine..

high blood pressure or heart attack risk people
should know that nicotine will increase their
risk of heart disease and death..

gp can easily confirm this potential risk..
nicotine crosses the placenta directly into
the unborn child, so pregnant women
should not take any form of nicotine..

also there is non nicotine e-juice which has
[apparently] relaxing, calming anti-stress effects..

millions of smokers worldwide have quit smoking
which is the bottom line.. if your choice is weaning
off nicotine and that works for you, then nothing
else matters..

Smoking is my only regret. Gave up three years ago after 26 years. It was fairly easy to quit so should've done it much sooner; and that's the bloody annoying part.
