Ok, this is a rant, so be warned.

I have recently bought a SR Model Zero Gravity Windscreen from Tom @ Biohazardcycles. When I got it in, I wasn't impressed by the material, it was flimsier than OEM, a lot flimsier. Anyways for $90 I got it and installed it, left a little gap between the screen and fairing but its aftermarket so I can't complain.

So I was washing my bike and there was a bug on my windscreen for a week now and I had to use a little pressure to get it out....then SNAP....sure enough the pressure I put against it snapped the screen. I thought for a $90 windscreen there would have been some quality to it. But nope, I guess I should have put my hand on the other side to support it but you wouldn't believe how fast it snapped.....

So I'm down $90 and I do not have my OEM screen......I'm pretty mad/very sad.....uhhhhg :(

Going to call Zero Gravity on Monday....see what they have to say

I think "PUIG!!" may have been the noise that it made when it snapped off

PUIG was backordered :( so I settled for the more expensive "higher quality" (sarcasm) Zero Gravity. I should have just waited for PUIG!

I really hope ZG stands by their product and gives me a chance to exchange...but I have a feeling they might do the Big Corporation thing and say "Sorry you cannot prove what happened and whats done is done"

Next windscreen, I'll just wipe everyday so I will never need to put pressure on in. :(

WOW! Not buying one of these. I mean how hard is it to make a quality windscreen. It's just a piece of plastic!
ZG was just a piece of plastic. Normal piece of plastic that the edges looked sanded and fresh.

I believe a quality piece would have smoothed edges and the whole piece wouldn't bend if I pressed my pinky against it. Just needs to be a high quality "piece of plastic"

Boy, that does really suck! Should definitely be able to withstand a little force you'd think.
You guys making jokes about sounding like Puig, ha ha. Maybe ZG's are only supposed to be used in space! Reminds me of a time at work when someone's flashlight overheated and nearly caught fire. We got a big kick out of the "Surefire" name!
Too bad the touring screen from Honda isn't sold in the states. It's only $80 something, but shipping from Thailand will set ya back a lot more. Course I guess that's a mute point since you no longer have the OEM one.

The way it snapped, looks to be a defect in the way it was made..too clean of a break honestly, it almost looks like it was cut off. Hopefully they replace it, that's why I decided to just paint mine, it was a pain in the ass to remove, but windshields have gone wayyy up in price for me to pay.

That has to be a defect. One would think that a windshield should be able to withstand a decent impact without snapping into what could become sharp, pointy splinters. The fact that you put such small amount of pressure on it leads me to believe there was a flaw in the way the material was injected into the mold. I could be wrong but I think you will get a replacement without any hassle.
