Thinking of painting the cover of the muffler a glossy black to match the rest of my black bike.

If anyone has done this with good results -would you recommend a paint and clearcoat combo?

many thanks!

hey i have a black bike and i just recently painted mine. i first sanded the surface to roughen it up a little, then primed it with spray primer to protect the paint from the heat.. I personally wouldnt go for a glossy tone since i think it'll make the aluminum look like plastic. I painted mine with a textured metallic black that i found at autozone for $10. it looks great and it matches the some of the tones of the of the bike but still holds a solid aluminum look. I will upload pictures tomorrow!!

miguedona21: Can't wait to see pictures!
(Good advice on not going with a glossy black. I'll keep an eye out for a textured metal black)
