For the record, I'm very much ATGATT, so if is just too hot for the above then I won't be riding. One can argue just be more defensive, but you never know 'when' something will happen -- and if I did, then why wear anything as I could always avoid it lol.
I'll add to the discussion that comfort level is safety in itself. By that I mean if you're wearing full gear with no ventilation on a hot day you're in a sense less safer than gear with better ventilation. Being so hot and sweaty (or cold and shivering) to the point where you have less than an ideal level of focus is a hazard in itself. So its not just about having gear, but having the RIGHT gear. As far as the gear I use:
If you have to ride a pretty scoot to a pimps' convention you don't want to be making your grand entrance wearing Nancy Boy Butt Naked Kevlar Leathers.
I'm not posting pics of this stuff. Check out their website.
Gear: Motoport Kevlar (it's ugly, but EXTREMELY well thought out and made. Its the ONLY textile gear thats AMA approved for racing)
Helmet: Bell
Boots: Sidi
Actually, 2 sets of gear. If I'm touring.. I'm wearing the above, If, I'm just running around town, Scorpion Commander jacket or Tourmaster Intake.
Holy full grain cowhide, madd-trapper, I fear this thread has gone way off the deep end. If Neiman Marcus sold motorcycle apparel, their catalogs would look like this...
Wait... N-M does sell riding gear... it's mixed in with the rest of the beach wear and sandals. They even have it in colors to coordinate to your scooter. Awesome.

It hurts my eyes and slows my computer with all these gigantic pics too. Whats next a picture journal of my riding socks?
So glad somebody brang this thread back from the dead too.

Yeah... If I'm on this thread too long the cooling fan spools up something fierce... as long as this 'puter doesn't start blowing out smoke.
You have photo's of your riding socks too?... I glad to hear I'm not alone on that. We should start a support group, we could talk about our feelings about riding socks.
