Just curious what bikes everyone is looking at when/if it comes time to replace your CBR250R's. I plan on riding my CBR for another season at least before I make a move to a bigger bike but I haven't fully decided what kind of bike I want to get next. I may go up to a 600-750cc sport bike but I might also get a cruiser (and I may even keep the CBR for commuting just for the fuel economy).

What bike do you want to get next?

Although I intend to keep the bike till she can'na give me no more, Captain, I'm certain that the SO will ask me to stop riding in the street once we get married. I'll end up becoming a "weekend warrior." Thus, my next bike will be a Daynota 675 that will see track duty and absolutely nothing else. Then one day, I'm going to scare her when she snoops into my files and sees me doing reckless things while out there, so I'll end up selling the Daynota and getting a CFR250 to take to trails. Then she'll get worried about the verts and force me to sell that CRF as well. When all is said and done, I'll end up with a Huffy.

ha ha ha. I sold my track car and bike when I got married, two kids later I decided to buy a bike and the CBR250R is it. The insurance and cost is cheap enough to justify.
Next bike? well I would love to own a NC700S but if the CBR500/400 has the same under the seat gas tank and has reasonable insurance I might get that.
no point changing bikes unless there's something significantly different about it.

2007+ Yamaha R6, or Honda CBR600RR. I would prefer the R6, but if a CBR600RR becomes available for me first then I'll take that.

Though I plan on keeping my 250 as well, I'd really like a CBR 600RR unless they release another middle weight then for the sake of insurance and comfort I'd take that.

Aside from work, I don't really need to be going anywhere that fast anyway so I'll love my 250 forever

I've been considering a 2013 ninja 650 but there aren't any dealers that aren't over 2 hours away so I may end up going after a 2012 cbr600rr this winter while the snow is still on the ground. I figure I should be able to get a great deal on it during the winter, time will tell. Would prefer the ninja for ergonomics though.

With safe regards from the mostly frozen north.

A small, efficient commuter is hard to beat. If the Ninja 300 gets anything better than 60 mpg, I'm sold. CBR will go to a friend who's happy to have it.

Down the line, a Triumph Tiger 800 so I can do some adv/touring around the country.

I'm happy with my current bike, and would buy it again after it dies, but I like trying different things. My next bike would be a dual-sport as it's just about the only 'genre' I haven't tried yet. Maybe a V-strom, or that new CRF? Don't know, haven't looked much into that one yet as my current ride is only 8 months old! But yea, thinking dual sport.

I just got my bike this afternoon, but my plan is to upgrade to the cbr600f in about 2/3 years time.
Congrats on the new bike! I absolutly love my '12 cbr250r and have no intention of getting rid of it, I plan on passing it down to my son as his first bike (he only 5years old!:D).... But I am in the market for a '78 cb550. I lived in Japan many years back and fell in LOVE with this bike. Now that im all grown up I want to find one as close to mint condition as I can. On a side note, I was at the dealership the other day and came REALLY close to trading my '06 katana for a new '12 crf250l I really wanna get back in the dirt and it was almost a straight up trade! Im not a impulse buyer so I told the dealer I would give it a couple of days and get back to him. Im still thinkin bout it....

When I was a kid, I wanted a Schwinn Stingray, but wound up getting the Huffy knock off of the Stingray. Mine was orange, had the small diameter front tire/wheel, big slick on the rear, stick shift on the top tube. Cool bikes... there is quite a niche vintage/retro market for these, especially the Schwinn Stingrays. I've seen that clean, original bikes will bring big bucks on e-bay.

I'm extremely happy right now with my CBR250, no plans at all to part with it, but I'm always looking around at different bikes (and cars).

I really like this new NC700X, hearing lots of great things about it:

I'd say there's a good possibility that a CBR600RR might be in my future:

(in black, of course!)

A Harley Sportster (883?) would be cool but realistically, probably not in my future and not really my style.

Most logical choice wld be the rumored cbr 400. Barring that a GIXXER 600 or cbr 600rr. Leaning more towards the 600rr. Both are wonderful bikes but realistically the 400 is a better choice. I know I wouldn't expolit the full power of the the GIXXER or 600rr. I've owned a cruiser and will never go back and also own a touring bike. Sport bikes is my flavour:D
