Still waiting for mine back here in Canada. Suppose to get it next week!
Desplaines Honda is supposed to get 2 non abs at the end of the month. Dupage Honda, where I got mine, is possibly getting one non abs at the end of June also. They told me that one would be the last they get for the forseeable future, if they even get it.The Chicago dealers seem to have no clue when (or even if) they will get their shipment of ABS bikes. I've been calling every few weeks to try to get an update. What's with the delay? Why the secrecy from Honda? or are the dealers just toying with their customers?
I just got rid of my Volusia the other day and gave the wife the Sportster. I get alot more use out of the smaller bike.Mines suppose to be shipped on the 17th and here (Kendalville, Indiana) the following week. I sat on a black non-ABS and it was nice. I'm coming from a 2008 Harley Street Glide so it was small. That's what I wanted though, something smaller to putt around on.
His must have been a super secret special delivery? Got his abs before I even got my non ABS. Something smells fishy here.I purchased mine with ABS on April 30th in Florida.
I have yet to hear from anyone anywhere why the U.S. has no ABS bikes. The Honda regional sales guys have no answer for it. Latest word I have is July/August ! While Honda was delivering non-ABS bikes in a flurry in the States, Honda Canada received both abs and non-abs versions per dealer orders. It becomes even more confusing when you figure the U.S. dealers ordered mostly non-abs machines.........some things are a mystery......Canada has them, US doesn't...
But if they have people with actualy deposists down for an ABS, why not ship them, atleast as many as there were deposits? I had a deposit down for one, then said **** it when all the non were showing up and no dealer had a clue when they were getting an ABS.No mystery. Its because they know the majority of people will buy them without abs. Plus its a cheaper version, easier to compete with the Ninja 250R.
All the dealers I talked to knew they werent getting any abs. That has nothing to do with the dealers though. If I put a deposit on an ABS and Honda won't ship it to them, but apparently does to Canada, it's not the dealers fault.
I'm glad I didn't get an ABS now actually. First bike so I wanted to be safe, but I'm not so worried about it now that I've gotten real life braking experience.
