I got a call from my Mississippi dealer to come on and pick up my Red ABS bike. I told my sales person I would be there in the morning the 22nd. After a hot dry summer it has just now started to rain and I will put the bike in the back of my pickup to bring it 75 miles to my house.

Will be picking mine up this comming weekend. It just so happens they have an open house that day so it should be fun. I would like to get it sooner but I just started my night shift.

So is there still a shortage? I'm gonna start looking for an ABS model soon. Are there guys still waiting on a shipment? if so from where? I'm in the Midwest.
I know Rod's power sports
Rod's Power Sports, Lincoln, NE
also got a black one in the same time they had my red one shipped. The only other one in the whole nebraska, Kansas zone. I dont know if it is reserved or not. Might want to drop them a line.

In Mississippi, Picked up my Red ABS today.

I got the first ABS bike my dealer has gotten. I called 3 weeks ago and no one had put a deposit on one so I was the first. The dealer only has non abs cbr 250s in stock now. I paid $4,199 + $10 title fee plus the Mississippi sales tax and another state $50 fee.

I was not looking for this type of bike and it is going to have to grow on me. I would have rather had a standard sitting bike like the DL 650 ABS but it is more money and larger. Maybe I will get one in a few years. To me ABS was a must have. I would have also liked something like a Suzuki TU250 if it had more power and ABS. But for the money

I road the 250 about 45 miles today and did not exceed 55mph and just took it easy. My right palm got numb and I am not used to leaning forward and having to hold my head up. BTW I am 52, 5ft 6in and 205 lbs kinda old for this type of bike. I grew up riding all sort of bikes but my last bike was 15 years ago and it was a 750 but have ridden others through years.

Anyway, I am hoping to get used to the sitting and leaning forward position.

Wow. $4259 plus tax for an ABS. very nice. Still waiting for the one I ordered & put $$$ down in March & I'll be paying $5500 for mine. I heard today maybe August! Like I said before, it might just be a Christmas present I'll get to swoon over till riding season 2012.

Did steal it

Wow! I rode mine home like I stole it. You DID steal your bike for that price. Things must be slow around there for your dealer to discount a bike that has a waiting list in other places. Especially the ABS version. I had to drive 160 miles to a Powerhouse dealer to even get a Non abs bike and had to pay $300 over sticker. None of the three local dealers in my area have even gotten anything yet.

Got my ABS in CA

Snagged the first ABS bike in California. Thanks Bill Robertson Honda of North Hollywood. Rode her home today. Dealer installed my black carbon-fiber Two Brothers Racing Exhaust and frame sliders during final prep.

Did the tech say anything about the fuel injection needing a remap or cheater box with the new exhaust? I assume it eventually re learned itself to start well and run properly after riding for a while.

Well, you may hear something soon, Kutter. My dealer just called and my bike (red and silver with ABS) hit the warehouse in Troy, Ohio last evening (Friday 24th of June, 2011). He said it should be at the dealership middle of next week (28-30 of June). I'd guess your bike might come from the same warehouse as it serves 1300 Midwest Honda dealers.

BTW mine will cost $4800.00 out the door. Taxes and tile fee was $340.00. No dealer prep or set-up fee.

I didn't order this bike, the dealer did sometime ago. I found out he was getting it by calling around and so I made a deposit on it. My friend and I called about 15 Honda dealers to find one that had been ordered so it pays to call around.

Hey, Bent--you're a young guy! I'll be 72 in a couple of weeks. I ride with two guys that are in their 80's. One on a Harley Rocker C and the other on a Suzuki Boulevard C50T.

There's hope, just hang in there! :)

Tech said that the fuel injection will re-learn the proper fueling via feedback from the stock O2 sensor and the bike would not run lean A/F ratios in day to day driving on the street with my slip-on exhaust. He did tell me that I would get maximum performance up top (at RPMs 7500-redline) with a fuel re-map or cheater box. He strongly recommended going that route if I were to race the bike, continuously operate her in the upper RPMs, or upgrade to a full aftermarket exhaust system (header to tailpipe). The stock ECU is only able to adjust fueling +/- 15% and would run out of juice in the upper power band first. Dyno tuning with a wide band O2 sensor for A/F ratio levels with HP and TQ graphs would reveal this and be needed to reach the fullest power potential of this bike.

Scan

I asked my dealer about their scan tool. It can go out on the road on the bike and log 15 seconds of data including mixture correction values at the push of a button. It would be nice if your salesman could ask service to take a couple minutes to do that for you in order to assure the fuel injection is still in control range and not running dangerously lean any where. I am also going to cross post this on the exhaust thread where we have been discussing mods.
