Gonna go for a quick ride but the wife drops the Sportster backing it out of the garage, WTF! I her her scream and theres the bike on its side, lovely sight. Shes not hurt, bike suffers a few scratches. Nows shes pissed that she sold her GZ250 and doesnt want to ride anymore. So now I have to find her a lil rebel or star 250, she doesnt like sport bikes.

The Yammie VStar 250 would be a an upgrade from to the GZ250 in terms of power and fuel-economy. Here are the stats from the recent comparo of 250cc bikes from Popular Mechanics.

What does she think of dual-sports? The KLX250S might be an option (though the seat-height might be an issue).

If you are interested in how the bikes compare performance wise in the PM article here you go:

Thanks for the info. I really thought the Yamaha 250 star or Virago would be great. Unfortunately very hard to find around here, tons of Rebels though. Maybe she needs a Trike.
If she had dropped the CBR that probaly wouldve been worse, the HD is a 2010 with only 400 or so miles so im not happy either way. Rode it around the block to make sure it was alright and realized how much more modern the CBR really is. Big difference.

I just picked up a 2008 V Star 250. It will help me wait out the arrival of my ABS CBR. Told my wife the Star is an ideal bike to teach the boy on. No sense him beginning on a 600cc or bigger when he takes to the street.

Just sold her GZ250 as she thought she was ready to move up in size. Think she just wanted it to go along with all her Harley apparel!
That Star 250 is nice but none around for sale. The only 250's around her are the Rebels. If I buy that then Im stuck with the Harley. And unfortunately theres a ton of used ones on the market so I'll lose money big time selling it. After getting the CBR I have no interest riding it. Heck I still have my Volusia which I havent even gotten it started this year, goes thru batteries for some reason.
