The ABS version of our bike blocks the steering stem hole with brake components so if you want to lift the front so you can change the fork oil you could probably use a front lift and jack stands on the sliders. This would probably be more stable and unclutter the space around the fork. So $150 for rear stand, $150 for front stand, $180 for sliders and $150 for jack stands and I can change my own fork oil and protect my bike! :( Seems like it should be easier and cheaper, but the mounting of the Yoshimura sliders looks solid.

I tried to put mine on today and had a bolt sheer in the U bracket. It was not tight yet either. It was not as easy as the others to get in though. Both sides of it were tough for both bolts i tried. Thinking a manufacturing flaw like the part was not alligned when the holes were tapped. I am hoping I can get a replacement from yoshi. both the bolt and the U bracket are useless now.

Used to working with many CnC parts and know that sometimes things can be off if the part moves or is not alligned right when you tap the holes.

Had exactly that happen to mine too, and I was using a torque wrench on their settings.
Be interested to know how you get on with replacement parts as my dealer said he couldn't get.

I emailed yoshmura directly, but if that fails, i will be returning the whole kit to where i bought it. I too was using a torque wrench on their settings.

I had to re-tap one of my brackets. I am amazed that you seem to have the same issue. Its like they have something off in manufacturing. Anyways, I picked up a longer bolt from the hardware store with the same thread and threaded it in from the back of the bracket all the way through to get it re-taped. Then the bolt went in like a charm. Try it out if you cant get Yoshi to replace it. Do let us know what Yoshi says!

My issue is that the bolt sheared off in the bracket. So not only was there a flaw in the bracket, but also that they are using poor quality hardware. If they can not replace that bracket and bolt, I will just return the kit to the dealer i got it from as I have no way to get that bolt out. I would have thought that this would be more rare than it sounds like.

Just to ask -- Considering the way these mount (basically bolting a metal 'u' around 3 spots on the bike's frame), how can these not scratch the frame over time?

Given that our bike is steel (I think), once the black coat is gone, it would begin to rust. Kinda surprised Yoshi didn't wrap the hardware with rubber or similar to try and prevent this.

Part of the reason why I ask is I'm about ready to give up on my T-Rex sliders, and Yoshi would be my second option (but I don't want to scratch the frame to protect the frame, if you know what I mean).
